Dr. Fisher works with adults who would like help with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation and interpersonal difficulties. In many cases, these problems are interconnected with workplace issues. Dr Fisher understands that problems are often interwoven between work and home life. She is often consulted for help with life changes at work and at home. Dr Fisher is especially interested in working with couples who are struggling with these issues.
Dr Fisher also works with children and adolescents who are having difficulties with anxiety, depression, behavior and adjustment difficulties. When appropriate, families are brought into treatment to help a family member identified with a problem. She develops therapy for families needing to adjust to the stages of childhood and adolescence, behavior problems, crisis situations, and divorce and remarriage.
Dr. Fisher has obtained extensive experience working in hospital clinics and academic institutions in Montreal and Ottawa . She has worked at the Allan Memorial Institute and at the Royal Ottawa Hospital . She has participated in a Family Therapy Clinic in a hospital-based childrens’ outpatient program. She has been part of various research initiatives involving child and family development. She has provided consultation to many federal government departments. Dr. Fisher is currently on staff at McGill University where she lectures on Communication Skills Enhancement.
